今回は、作家の周平さんをご紹介します。数多くの展覧会で作品を発表し、受賞歴もあり、注目される作家だ。
作風は、モチーフ、色使い、構図が三位一体となり、印象的な1枚を作り出す。私が初めて見たのは、『遊ぶ人・糸』シリーズだ。すぐに頭に浮かべられるほど強烈に印象的である。
これほどの強いイメージを残す作品、多くの方の心を動かすことは明白だ。しかし、それは作家の作品に対する情熱、作品と真摯に向き合う姿勢、時間をかけて紡ぎだすエネルギーを前に、当然のような気さえしてくる。
作品の圧倒的なエネルギーを、直に感じてほしい。
作品コンセプト
日本での作品は『人鳥の夢』シリーズ、『遊ぶ人』シリーズ、『遊ぶ人・糸』シリーズ以来、近年新しく『食』シリーズを描き続けています。
『食』シリーズを制作することになったきっかけは、わたしが毎日いろいろな料理に直面して、様々な幻想が生まれたからです。
ーわたしの自由精霊たち-人鳥たちは見えない食卓の舞台で「犠牲」、「逃亡」、「誕生」、「輪廻」などの様々なシーンが起こっている…彼女たちの運命を目撃した私たちは、私たちの「始まりと終わり」、「生と死」、いわゆる真の精神上の絶対自由とは何かを再考するかもしれない…ー

1997 オランダアムステルダムヒットビルトアートアカデミー（Rietveld Art Academy）访問留学。
1998 中国西南師範大学（現西南大学）美術学院油絵MFA
2004 銀座すどう美術館『若き作家からのメッセージ展』最優秀賞受賞
2006 美術雑誌『美術の窓』にて、『今、注目されているアーティスト220人』の1人に選ばれる。
2008 世界堂Think Global Art Japan 大賞展にミューズ賞受賞。 2017 日本近代美術協会展クサカベ賞受賞。

Works concept
Since the “Dream of a Bird” series, “Person Playing” series, and “Person Playing-the Thread” series in Japan, we have been drawing a new “food” series in recent years.
The reason I decided to create the “food” series is that various illusions were born in the face of various dishes every day.
