スペインレジデンスから帰ってきてからの作品です。ノハという場所に滞在していたのですが、美しい海がそばにあり、そこの砂浜の砂を絵具に練り込み制作しています。あのすばらしい自然と時間の遠い記憶を探りながら制作しました。

This is a work I did after I came back from artist-in-residence program in Spain. I was staying in a place called Noja, near the beautiful sea, and I kneaded the sand from the beach into the paint to create this piece. I created this work while exploring the distant memory of that wonderful nature and time.

フレスコ画を大学生の時から制作しています。水で溶いた顔料が染みこんでいくのを待つような描き心地は 油絵具独特の のばす、こねる 感覚とはまるで違います。またモルタルが乾燥しきるまでに描ききる、時間の制限があることも 刺激的です。油彩の次に多く発表している技法の作品です。

I have been creating frescoes since I was a university student. The feeling of waiting for the pigments dissolved in water to soak in is different from the feeling of spreading and kneading that is unique to oil paints. It is also stimulating to have a time limit to paint until the mortar is dry. Next to oil painting, this is the technique that I have published the most.
