お家に現代アート作品を飾り、日常にアートを取り入れる楽しさをお伝えできればと思っています。
今回は、すどう美術館 須藤一郎館長の「館長のひとりごと」を掲載します。
「ぎゃらりーぜん」での収蔵作品展
9月18日（日）から24日（土）まで、秦野市の「ぎゃらりー ぜん」 で7回目となる「すどう美術館収蔵作品展」が始まります。
「ぎゃらりーぜん」は秦野駅から徒歩では少し遠い場所ですが、日赤病院の大きな建物のすぐ近くにある十全堂という薬局が運営するギャラリーです。広くて気持の良いスペースのうえ、ディレクターの多賀薫さんの暖かい対応もあり、いつも多くの来廊者があります。
もうここで7回目となりますが、その都度初めて見ていただく作品をと考え、まず、たくさん所蔵する作品の中から展示作品を選ぶことから準備が始まります。今回は猪熊弦一郎、池田龍雄、窪田真規、田口雅巳、舩坂芳助などの作品、25点ほどを展示する予定で、どんな風に皆さんが見てくださるのかとても楽しみです。
もう一つ今回の楽しみは開催二日目の19日（月・祝）に立川流真打の立川志らら師匠が落語をしてくれることになったことです。志らら師匠はすどう美術館が銀座に拠点を移した1998年から定期的に落語会をしてもらってきた、立川流の若手落語家4人の中の一人で20数年のお付き合いが続いています。
華のある落語家ですので、会場がぱっと明るくなるのではないでしょうか。
すでに多くの皆さんから予約をいただいています。
当日、落語の前に私が作品解説のトークを行なうこととしていますが、前座を務める形になりそうですね。
なお、私は会期中、毎日在廊し、皆さまをお迎えしたいと張り切っております。多くの方々にお出かけいただき、作品をご覧いただくとともに、感想等お聞きできればうれしいなあと思うのです。

作品と作家名
人の顔と名前をセットで覚えるように、作品と作家の名前をセットで覚える傾向があります。
草間彌生さんの作品はインパクトがあるので、皆さんも作品と作家名がセットで頭にある方は多いのではないでしょうか。
以前リヒター展を見に行った際、入場チケットで常設展も見られるのでそちらも見てきました。
村上隆や合田誠といった有名なアーティストのものもあれば、知らない作家も多く、年代分けされ、たくさんの作品がありました。
数ある作品の中で、見たことあるな〜と思う作品がありました。
作品は初めて見るものですが、作風と申しますか、この感じの作品は同じ作家で違う作品を見たことがあると言う意味です。
そこにあったのは、津上みゆきさんの大きな作品です。見たことがあるのは小さな作品でした。青が綺麗な、たゆたゆとした空気感がある作品だった事を思い出します。
およそ20年前のことですし、期間で言うと展覧会の1週間、しかも個展ではなくグループ展だったと思います。
しかし作品を見た途端20年の時が戻り、作品と作家名がセットで頭に蘇ります。これも作品の持つ興味深い力なのかもしれません。
東京国立近代美術館に買い上げされているとは、すごいな〜と勝手に感動してしまいました。
「View, the trace of time, Narutakigwa River, 2:52pm 6 Oct 18/2019」
というタイトルです。

[ Gallery SUDOH director’s monologue ] Part26 “Exhibition of collected pieces at 【Gallery-zen】”
I am happy if getting to know the artwork and the artist will lead you to an encounter with a special piece of art for you.
I hope to convey to you the pleasure of decorating your home with contemporary art and incorporating art into your daily life.
This time, with the cooperation of Ichiro Sudoh, Director of Gallery SUDOH, I will be posting [ Gallery SUDOH director’s monologue ] .
Exhibition of collected pieces at 【Gallery-zen】
The seventh exhibition of works from the [Gallery SUDOH collection exhibition] will be held from September 18 (Sun.) to 24 (Sat.) at [Gallery Zen] in Hadano.
[Gallery Zen] is a bit far from Hadano Station on foot, but it is a gallery run by a pharmacy called Juzendo, located near the large building of the Japanese Red Cross Hospital.
In addition to the spacious and pleasant space, the warm hospitality of the director, Kaoru Taga, always attracts many visitors.
This will be the seventh time that the exhibition has been held, and each time we consider the works to be shown for the first time, and the preparation begins with selecting works to be exhibited from among the many works in our collection.
We are planning to exhibit about 25 works by artists such as Genichiro Inokuma, Tatsuo Ikeda, Maki Kubota, Masami Taguchi, and Yoshisuke Funasaka, and we are very much looking forward to seeing how they will be viewed by the public.
Another exciting thing is that on the second day of the event, Monday, the 19th (national holiday), Shirara Tatekawa, the head of the Tatekawa style, will be performing Rakugo.
Master Shirara is one of the four young rakugo storytellers of the Tatekawa style who have been regularly performing with us since 1998, when the Gallery SUDOH moved its base to Ginza, and we have been friends for more than 20 years.
He is a spectacular rakugo storyteller, and I am sure he will brighten up the venue. We have already received reservations from many people.
I will give a talk explaining the works before the rakugo performance on the day of the event, and I will likely be the starter.
I will be at the gallery every day during the exhibition period to welcome everyone. I hope that many of you will visit the gallery, view artworks, and ask me what I think of those works.

Artwork and Artist Name
Just as we tend to remember a person’s face and name as a set, we tend to remember an artwork and the artist’s name as a set.
Yayoi Kusama’s works have such an impact that many of you probably have a set of her works and the artist’s name in your mind.
When I visited the Richter exhibition in the past, I was able to see the permanent exhibition with my admission ticket, so I visited that as well.
Some were by well-known artists such as Takashi Murakami and Makoto Aida, while others were by artists I did not know, and were divided into chronological groups, with many pieces.
Among the many works, there was one that I thought I had seen before.
The work is new to me, but the style, or I should say the feel of the work, means that I have seen different works by the same artist.
What I found there was a large work by Miyuki Tsugami.
What I have seen was a small piece. I remember that it was a work with a beautiful blue color and a floating airy feeling.
It was about 20 years ago, and in terms of duration, I think it was one week of an exhibition, and it was a group show, not a solo exhibition.
However, as soon as I see the work, 20 years of time returns, and the work and the artist’s name come back to my mind as a set. This may be another interesting power of the work.
I was impressed by the fact that it was purchased by the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo.
