Harumi, an artist who says she loves flying.

She finds joy in sensing the lives of people below from the airplane window, being moved by the sky’s vistas, and imagining what birds might see from their perspective.

She also shared a memory of hearing a great tit’s call in Spain, how it lifted her spirits when she felt lonely in a distant foreign land.

This exhibition carries the subtitle “Bird’s Time.” It abstractly expresses the world as seen through a bird’s eyes using color and form.

Born in Tokyo

Graduated from Musashino Art University, Faculty of Fine Arts (1971). After serving as an assistant professor at the same university, studied sculpture at the Palos Verdes Art Center in the United States (1984-1987).

Currently participates in exhibitions and symposiums primarily in Japan, as well as in many other countries including China, Spain, and Slovenia.
